MyROI gaining attention
by Mark Midland
MyROI, a new product launched by Youbet in 2009, has been gathering a good deal of attention lately, and with good reason.
The tool is unlike anything previously available in racing. It breaks down your wagering history to an unprecedented level of detail – all with the goal of making you a better horseplayer. MyROI was featured on a blog article on the Most Fan Friendly Industry Change on Green But Game.
The tool breaks down your wagering performance, from up to two years ago, on a number of criteria:
- By Breed
- Surface
- Track
- Distance
- Bet Type
- Race Type
- Trainer
- Jockey
MyROI can be especially helpful for horseplayers to analyze their strengths and weaknesses. Determining what races, distances, tracks and surfaces can be key into making you a more successful horseplayer.
Mark Midland is the VP of Racing and Business Development for Youbet.com and has been a fan of horse racing since enjoying summers at Arlington Park during his college years.

As a Harness player, I feel left out when the ROI doesn’t reflect the classifications of the wins and losses….
I suggest making at least 4 classifications at a minimum….
Opens (for Open, INV, FFA or the very best 2 or 3 classes at a track)
Conditioned (non claiming type races)
Non-Winners (ie;..nw 2, 3, 4 races lifetime)
Claimers (perhaps a delineation of high priced claimers vs. low priced ones)

Thank you for your comments Lottakash; we are working on adding Harness features to MyROI, it requires overcoming some limitations related to Harness content.

Tremendous tool to truly understand strengths and weaknesses. Too often after playing races we don’t look back to see how we did and why we did what we did. The automatic tracking and sorting eliminates any excuses

It really is a best of breed metrics tool. I was surprised by some of my super profitable angles but now I have numbers to back up my love of Castellano!
